Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Post RN is a two-year undergraduate degree program designed for registered nurses who have previously completed a nursing diploma and want to upgrade their professional education to bachelor’s degree level. The program strengthens nurses’ theoretical knowledge, clinical competencies, leadership abilities, research skills, and understanding of population health. It prepares graduates to provide safe, evidence-based and comprehensive nursing care at primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare levels.The program also provides a pathway for experienced diploma nurses to progress into clinical practice, nursing education, administration, leadership, research, and advanced academic opportunities. The degree can also support progression into nursing leadership, management, education, research, and postgraduate nursing education, including MSN and PhD in Nursing. HEC notes that nurses with higher education have broader opportunities in clinical, education, research, and administrative roles nationally and internationally.
